Mexican Coke
Wednesday, September 01, 2010 - 12:18 PM
Azucar. Sugar. This is as good as it gets for those who take their Coca-Cola seriously. I figured that I better say a few words about it.
I still remember being excited about the change to Coke in about 1985. Now I don't know why. I took a sip and said, "this taste like Pepsi". Nothing against Pepsi, but I was a Coke fan. Coke II, please. Even "they" knew it was a mistake but hfcs was on the rise, and cheaper. Hence Coke "classic". Yeah right. Still wasn't the old Coke, and they knew
We're Back
Saturday, August 07, 2010 - 3:54 PM
This page doesn't get used all that much as you can see by the date gaps. Seems like we were just on the subject of "Throwback" and alas, they're back. Not much fanfare this time as I was told by the local Pepsi rep just a few days ago. Been through a 12 of Dew and a couple bottles of Pepsi so far. Nice to taste you again. I gave the hfcs Dew another try and it really has a funny(to me) aftertaste and I have vowed to never drink it again. Gonna buy a few cases and put them away, and of
Ending the "throwback" debate
Sunday, April 25, 2010 - 4:32 PM
You can put the "throwback" debate to bed. They are gone and that is a good and bad thing. Bad you say. Well, anyone with taste buds knows the first batch was better. I just finished a side by side test of Mt Dew and the difference is real. Seems a little sweeter which is ok buy me. The second batch seemed a little flat by comparison. But both are miles ahead of the fluid they now call Mt Dew.
Pepsi is another story. I never was a big fan back in the day as Coke or RC Cola were my
Wish list

What this world needs is...these made with sugar, cane preferred. Mr. Pibb. Have you been as unfortunate as I have and tasted that ass drink Mr. Pibb "extra"? Who would drink that. And just what is that "extra" thing in there? More ass I suppose. Do you remember pre hfcs Pibb? I know it has been a long time, but it was great. Hey Coke, give us real Pibb and make the soda world take notice. Give the ass to someone else. Costs too much and wouldn't have mass appeal you say. Let us decide.
Why do this and what is my point
Sunday, January 24, 2010 - 6:51 PM
Sugar is not the enemy, hfcs is. Things taste different than they used to. It is all about money and to hell with us. Sugar hasn't gone away. You just have to look for it. And this site is here to help. People go to some lengths to find things that they like, or remember from when they were kids. This site talks about that and is here to give people ideas and share their favorites. Thanks for looking.
The Dr Pepper debate
Sunday, January 24, 2010 - 6:33 PM
So, the plot thickens. Sugar is slowly making a comeback. Now Dr Pepper is in the mix. Well, it has been if you have ever heard the words "Dublin" Dr Pepper. I first heard those words a while back after doing some research about "Mexican" Coke. I ordered a case and have been hooked ever since. I have told many people and a few have been intrigued, the others thought I was nuts. Two bucks for an 8 oz. bottle and over a buck for a twelve ounce can. You're kidding, right? No I'm not. Some
Great news
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 - 12:49 PM
Boy, there is some great news for those of us who are done with HFCS in the soda we drink. I have found half a dozen types of National brand sodas with no HFCS. Please stop back and look in the next few days as there will be much to talk about...Jay
